Robbing Screen
The robbing screen is an essential part of protecting the bee hive against robbing bees and yellow jackets. To give the bees an added level of protection, simply close the two bottom openings and opening the small one over the aluminum curtain.
Screened Bottom Board
Research has shown that using a screened bottom board is a good way to control the mite count in a hive because of the number of mites that fall through the bottom screen during their everyday normal active. The screened bottom also allows proper ventilation causing the bees to work less and reducing swarming.
