As we get closer to extracting honey, the health of our bees should be at the forefront of our minds. Now is the time to recheck the mite count and assess the current health of the colony.

With this in mind, we will conduct our second workshop on examining the health of the colony. This workshop will teach you how to check and accurately determine the number of mites in a colony, and how to treat and manage mites as well as other treats to the colony. We will also show you how to manage your colonies when natural resources become scarce. And finally, how to determine how much honey is needed to get your colony through winter which will give can be removed from the colony during honey extractions.

This is a hands-on workshop that might require you to wear protective clothes and no hive tools will be allowed on site.
